Tier 2 General - Covid Volunteer

Hi,
It's just a query about my current covid 19 volunteer job. My Tier 2 General job is not in health sector (NHS) , one of my friend told me that there's some rule from government that those whose visa expires by end of October there visa will be renewed for another 1 year. Is this true? How to get more details about it.

It only applies to doctors, nurses and paramedics!!
