Potential issue with biometric appointment date

Post by Blitheringking » Wed Mar 18, 2020 7:05 pm

Good evening board members,

I hope someone with some knowledge can advise.

My wife will be applying for ILR SET(M).

We have submitted her application last night (17/03/20).
Her FLR visa expires on 31/03/20.

My issue is that the earliest biometric appointments available are in early April.
I understand that this will not be an issue.

My issue is that my employment letter is dated 24/02/20.
Also my payslips/bank statements will be over one calendar month old at the time of the biometric appointment.

Do the payslips, statements and employment letter need to be dated within 30 days of the biometric appointment or the date the application was submitted?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

The date of the application is the date of online submission :!:

Old passport required when applying for ILR?

Post by Blitheringking » Mon May 11, 2020 9:47 am

Hi,

I hope all are well!

In the process of applying for my wifes ILR SET M.
In the document checklist it mentions that if a visa was granted on an old passport, photocopies of that passport will be required.

Now my wifes original leave to remain (first entry) stamp/visa was in the expired passport.
When she applied for a passport renewal, she never received the old one back.

Now she only has the BRP/residence card from her further leave to remain.

Does anyone know if this will be an issue?

Thanks.

Hi,

What should we do if the expired passport cannot be retrieved or is lost?

BRP received but no decision email or letter

Post by Blitheringking » Fri Jul 10, 2020 12:16 pm

Hi Guys,

My wife received her BRP this morning out of the blue.
We were not expecting it yet as she has received no decision email or letter yet.

Is this unusual?

Her timeline is as below.

Application SET M
Application type Super priority
Application date 17/03/20
BRP appointment 06/07/20
Decision email - Not received
Decision letter - Not received
BRP card - Received 10/07/20

If we do not receive the letter in the next few days, whom should I contact?

Thanks.

Did you check the spam/junk folders??

If HO sent a physical letter, it comes separately to BRP cards.

You also don't need the letter.

Hi,

No nothing in spam/junk.

I will give it a few days to see if letter arrives. If not I will chase them.
Best to have it. You never know if it may be needed in future.

Thanks.

It won't be. The BRP card is evidence of immigration status, not the letter.

Besides, your spouse can apply for citizenship immediately once ILR BRP is issued if you are British and she meets the 3 year residence requirements.

There is nothing to chase. You will not get a decision letter. BRP is enough. The case is now concluded
