Child and working tax credit on parent route

Can parents on parent route due to ex-stateless British children apply for child tax credit or working tax credit? On BRP it says no access to public funds though. Thank you.

If you have ho recourse to public funds, then no.

You would have to write to HO and request the restriction to be removed.

After reading the section of public funds on letter I received with my BRP, someone said I'm eligible to some sort of payments from the government but did not know exactly what they are. That is talking about -
Countries that have a reciprocal agreement with the UK e.g. as some countries have with the UK for Child Benefit.
or
Contribution Based benefits - where you have paid National Insurance Contributions to the UK during the relevant required tax years. Contribution based benefits are not Public Funds

Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credits are means tested benefits and are Public funds. These are two of the benefits that have been replaced by the means tested benefit Universal Credit and that is a Public Fund too.

(A) You cant claim tax credits anymore it’s Universal Credit,
(B) As Casa states, you can request that the restrictions on your leave are removed by completing form NRPF10.

Hi,
I have applied to get NRPF removed from my visa and been waiting for months, but haven't heard anything from them so far. My situation is getting worse day by day. My son is a british citizen (due to 5 year stateless route). Is the home office shut due to the virus and opening any soon? Is there any way that I can inquire about my application? Thank you.

No they are not. However they have been dealing with priority issues such as people stuck in the UK with expired or expiring visas unable to travel due to restrictions and getting British citizens back from abroad.

There are delays in all aspects of applications since mid march.
