British Citizenship Form only

Post by Charlette01982 » Sat Jun 20, 2020 9:31 am

Hi all,

I’m in Northern Ireland, recently just sent away my application form for British Naturalisation A few days ago 14/6/2020 by post instead of online. My parents prefer me to do by form as they don’t understand how the technology works these days.

Do yous think that’s the right idea to do? And how you kind do youse think I’ll take as of My 15 years PR doesn’t end until next year?

Am abs fuming now I didn’t apply online instead.

Hello

From the Home Office website:
Applying by post is taking much longer than applying online because of coronavirus (COVID-19). Avoid applying by post, especially if you need your documents back by a specific date.

In normal times, the paper application for naturalisation works well too. But for now, it's much slower.

But why do you let your parents decide on your behalf?

Online is a very straightforward process and the preferred method for UK residents. It allows you to book the biometrics appointment with UKVCAS and you upload all your documents and retain the originals. Can't advise on how UKVI handle paper applications. Generally applications can take up to six months. Your PR is valid at the time of application so no issue. Presumably you satisfy all the requirements. So you will have to wait for UKVI to contact you.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Aw didn’t see that link when I filled out the form. Yeah quite satisfied with it. I’ve included my mother Irish naturalisation but I’m just thought of going for Irish instead. Lol nvm it’s done now but thank yous all for replying.
