Appropriate salary: salary for a new job must be higher than the previous job?

Post by hp257 » Sun Jun 21, 2020 10:00 am

Hi,

I've read that an "appropriate salary" is required to change jobs/apply for a new Tier 2 visa, where the new salary must be higher than the experienced worker level/30k, whichever is higher.

I wonder if applicant must also earn a higher salary from the new job than the previous one, even if the new salary satisfies the above (higher than experienced level/30k)?

I didn't seem to find this in the policy document, but I saw this rule several times so quite confused... Thanks very much in advance!

There is no such requirement. The salary must be as stated in the SOC or higher is also fine. Cannot be lower than SOC.
