Spouse leaving after leave to remain granted

Hi all,

Can anyone help me with this situation. Leave to remain granted for 2.5 years with british wife n british baby. If wife wanting to leave the husband Will that make his leave to remain invalid? And under what grounds he can switch his visa to his british child and are there any chances of granting visa??
Any help would be appreciated.
