Visa for adult son with father on ILR and mother on Tier 2 General Visa

Hello team,

I entered UK on Tier 2 General Visa in May 2015 with family. My wife and son were my dependents and we live together.
My wife got employed where the company sponsored Tier 2 General visa for her as per their policy.

Currently, I have received ILR but my wife and son do not have ILR. I had applied to ILR in April but due to Covid related closure received my decision on 18th June.

Now my son's Tier 2 dependent visa expires before my eligibility for Naturalization in May 2021. He is eligible for ILR only when my wife is eligible i.e. in 2022. I shall need to apply for a new visa for my son before May 2021. He stays with us as our dependent and continues to be in education and recently he turned 18 years old.

Sequence:
1. Original BRP issue : 28-May-2015
2. Wife received Tier 2 General : 14-Nov-2017
3. Son's BRP expires : 28-May-2021 (6 years from original BRP)
4. Wife's BRP expires : 26-Nov-2022
5. I received ILR : 18-June-2020

I request to know:
a. what visa my dependent son should move to? Is it family visa?
b. Can my wife apply for ILR / family visa once I apply for citizenship?

No, he applies for a tier 2 dependent visa extension.

b. Can my wife apply for ILR / family visa once I apply for citizenship?

No. She will qualify for ILR when she meets the 5 year requirement on Tier 2 General. There is no shortcut route for her or your son. You becoming British at some point is irrelevant.
