Document Checklist for EEA Citizen

Post by najim » Sat Jul 18, 2020 7:27 pm

Hi All,

I have filled the online form and paid the fee for HO, now I am about to upload all the documents in UKVCAS system. I am little bit confused which document are accepted and which not, and I am unable to find more information.

So they are asking for: "Evidence that you have been in the UK lawfully for your 3 or 5 year qualifying residence period. This should be evidence that you were here as a worker, student, self-employed, self-sufficient, retired or incapacitated person"
So I am assuming payslip or P60 would be fine. I have only got P60 from 2020 and 2019 so that should cover 3 years, before I was working for another company, but the payslip and P60 were are online and I am unable to access those information, because the company went bankrupt.

So my question is there any another document I can use?

They also asking for: "Proof of living in the UK for Mr XXXXXXX for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen"
What kind of documents they are accepting for this section? Can I use my eu settlement letter which is cover 5 years? Or can I use the same documents from the 1st question (P60)?

Your help will be greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

You can also use Letter/Documents from other official organisations, such as Council Tax Bills, HMRC notifications, DWP pensions/child benefit, etc.

It is your PR card/document or settled status reference. The requirement appears to be confusing and duplicate but you are covered.

Thanks for the response:

I don't have PR card so I will be uploading my eu settlement status letter it will cover "Proof of living for 5 years"? I don't need any other supporting document with this?

For "proof of living" I have 3 years covered with P60 and 1 year with council tax bill, but 1 years are still missing. I have checked everything and unfortunately I don't have any other letter from official organisation. Can I cover the remaining 1 years with phone bill, credit card or bank statement?

You provide your settled status letter/reference - this proves your lawful status in the UK.

I have checked everything and unfortunately I don't have any other letter from official organisation. Can I cover the remaining 1 years with phone bill, credit card or bank statement?
Your P60s etc prove your residency in the UK because you don't normally get passport stamps. Applicants under UK ILR only supply their passports because they get stamps.

Bank Statements are not normally accepted - ideally official documents such as council tax, HMRC communications, pensions, child benefit, etc.

So I have uploaded my settlement letter as "proof of living"

The last couple of days was really stressful, I was managed to get few documents and I have uploaded the following for "evidence that you been in the UK lawfully for your 5 year..."
June 2020 payslip
May 2020 payslip
April 2020 payslip
P60 2020
P60 2019
P60 2018
P60 2017
May 2016 payslip
April 2016 payslip
March 2016 payslip
February 2016 payslip
January 2016 payslip
December 2015 payslip

I am in the uk since June 2014. In the beginning I was working on and off for agencies. My evidence is only cover 4 years and 7 months. I don't had CSI since I am here. I don't have any documents from official organisation to cover the 5months that missing. I have already applied for citizenship and paid the fee, now I know I should have waited till December so I can cover 5 years, but I have got wrong impression the my eu settlement status would be enough.

Can somebody advise to this matter?

1 more question.
I have uploaded all my documents on UKVCAS website. There was no option to upload my referee documents. What do I need to do with that? I need to post to HO or take it with me on UKVCAS appointment? (I haven't booked my appointment yet, because I have applied in July)

Upload with all your other documents. Doesn't matter where or what category it is uploaded. The categories are generic.

I take it you were granted settled status last year i.e 2019.
It's 2020 so it was year 2015 5 years ago.

So why would you need to be uploading evidence from year 2014 ?

Also, you no longer have to be exercising treaty rights for your residence in the UK to be considered ''lawfull'' after you've been granted settled status.

I have granted settle status June 2019 so I’ve applied for citizenship in July 2020. And I wasn’t working between July-October 2015, and I didn’t had CSI. Unfortunately I don’t have EHIC.

I am not too sure, I wasn’t on benefits or anything.
