MN1 registration—Documents uploaded online or through mail?

Post by timmm » Sat Aug 15, 2020 12:51 am

Hello!

We are submitting our MN1 application for our one-year-old who was born in the USA to a British parent (who has lived in the UK for more than three years of her life).

The application is complete and all our documents are ready.

Question: Are we required to MAIL all the supporting documents (including original passports) to the UK address listed on the final checklist, or is there an option to UPLOAD the documents somewhere?

We are wary of sending our passports and the baby's passport through the mail, especially given that the USA's postal service is currently unreliable.

Very grateful for any guidance.

Tim

For online applications all documents are uploaded - you retain the originals.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thank you so much.

That is what I thought, but I can't seem to find where to upload them?

I've submitted the application, even paid, and the final page is telling me I need to send in the checklist and supporting documents by post as soon as possible. I paid because I thought the final page would provide an opportunity to upload documents.

I feel silly. Where/How do I upload the supporting documents?

Thank you.

If relevant, I see others are submitting with Sopra Steria. We are submitting our application through https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk

Thank you for any insight.

Applying from abroad, you need to follow the instructions you are given. Not many make these applications from abroad so doubtful anyone else can offer advice.

The upload option are for those applying within the UK,

Found a similar situation by user “ElMac94”

Seems like its only postal route from abroad.
