so both the immigration advisors were right in their advice to me. so dependents over 18+ can also be included on the same application as per the details on the link you sent. I have put the pertinent rule in glowing text below
but I am going to make him apply separately for ILR as a Tier 2 dependent to be on the safe site
Thanks and have a great day !
If you’re over 18
Your parent can include you in their application as a dependant, or you can apply separately yourself. You can only apply if you:
got permission to stay in the UK (‘leave to remain’) on a family visa when you were under 18
do not live an independent life
You’re living an independent life if, for example, you’ve left home, got married and had children.
CULLINAN wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 8:45 pmThe general biometrics reuse criteria is as follows:

1) Child 18+ will get correspondence on his own registered email. Looking at the criteria I am assuming (90% sure) he will be chosen for biometrics reuse and will have to submit his biometrics via the IDV app. But you will have to wait for the official correspondence via his email.
You are chosen to attend biometrics appointment because of your child below 18.
2) Unfortunately these days mostly all appointments are paid.
3) You can NOT book for Child 18+ for now. You can only book for yourself and child below 18 as you are in one account. Prices are based on you two only.

See page 20 onwards how app works and which phones support it:

OK Cullinan, I will keep checking emails including spam.CULLINAN wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 9:49 pmYou will have to wait for the email to come through or keep checking.
Check both UKVCAS website for appointments and UKVCAS IDV app also.
If he will get IDV app access, he can book an appointment instead also. He will have access to both systems.
If he gets access to booking appointment system but NOT IDV app, then it means he is not selected for biometrics reuse either (this case is less likely).
Possibly the IDV app access is not given yet. It may take a day or two.
He should get access to the appointment booking system soon. Keep checking the UKVCAS appointments. CULLINAN wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 1:13 amReading the biometrics reuse criteria again and thinking about your Child 18+, I think your Child 18+ will NOT be eligible for biometrics REUSE. Since the last time he enrolled in 2015, he was only 14.
