Thank you AmazonianX for your reply.

so both the immigration advisors were right in their advice to me. so dependents over 18+ can also be included on the same application as per the details on the link you sent. I have put the pertinent rule in glowing text below

but I am going to make him apply separately for ILR as a Tier 2 dependent to be on the safe site

Thanks and have a great day !

If you’re over 18
Your parent can include you in their application as a dependant, or you can apply separately yourself. You can only apply if you:

got permission to stay in the UK (‘leave to remain’) on a family visa when you were under 18
do not live an independent life
You’re living an independent life if, for example, you’ve left home, got married and had children.

Good Morning All,

I would like to thank all senior members who have helped and advised me throughout this application process

Finally I have submitted my application ( for myself and my 15 yr old dependent ) separately yesterday evening.

As per the advice from senior members I created a new account for my 18+ son. Created an application for ILR and submitted/paid successfully yesterday evening( as tier 2 dependent )

Also finished uploading all the documents on to UKVCAS for all of us by 1 am this morning. Hope they will consider me as August 31st applicant provided I only finished uploading documents 1 am this morning.

Now feel a bit relaxed seriously.

Now fingers crossed for my ILR. :D

Will look out for the email and as advised will not opt out of IDV app use.

Regards,
newuser79

If you paid and submitted before midnight on 31st Aug and registered a UKVCAS account before midnight also, you will be considered for August applicants pool for biometrics queue. Documents upload date/time is irrelevant so dont worry. Keep an eye on the email/junk folder also, the UKVCAS flash message and the following topic:

https://www.immigrationboards.com/indef ... 99639.html

PS discuss all your biometrics related questions in the above thread and read member’s experience for update.

Thank you CULLINAN for your reply and advise.

Yes I submitted, paid by 6:30 pm yesterday. Registered both our accounts on UKVCAS and started uploading documents by 7 pm. Glad to know I will be considered as part of Aug applicant Biometrics pool.

Query on Biometric Appointment

Post by newuser79 » Thu Sep 10, 2020 8:28 pm

Hello Seniors,

Good Evening. I made the application for myself and my 15 yr old dependent on 31st August 2020. Today I received an email saying I am not eligible for biometric reuse. They asked me to book an appointment.

However my older son ( 18+ ) applied separately and he hasnt received any email.

Queries:

1- Will he also get an email or I have to just book for all of us under my acct for myself and my 2 dependents?
2- I found Core appointments for £220 towards the end of Sept both weekdays and weekends, I also found enhanced for £139 end of sept in Manchester. ( yes core £220 and enhanced £139 ). Why is that I am unable to see an free appointments? I cant see anything free even in Oct

3- Finally When I pay this £220 is it per person or is this £220 for all three of us ( myself and my 2 dependents) Kindly note my 18+ son applied on a seperate SET(O) form.

Kindly can one of you clarify?

Thanks,
newuser79

When did you provide your biometrics last time?
Your child 18+? Last time?
Your child below 18? Last time?

I will answer to the above query once I know this.

Dear CULLINAN,

Thanks for super fast reply

We all gave our last biometrics on 2nd week of Oct 2015. That was the last time all of us gave

My dependents children are currently 15 and 19 year old.

My older son who applied separately has received no email. Also I logged in to check and it doesnt show him any appointments. But under my UKVCAS account I can find appointments.

I dont want to book and leave my 19 yr old alone.

Thanks

The general biometrics reuse criteria is as follows:

Page 8

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 1.0ext.pdf

1) Child 18+ will get correspondence on his own registered email. Looking at the criteria I am assuming (90% sure) he will be chosen for biometrics reuse and will have to submit his biometrics via the IDV app. But you will have to wait for the official correspondence via his email.

You are chosen to attend biometrics appointment because of your child below 18.

2) Unfortunately these days mostly all appointments are paid.

3) You can NOT book for Child 18+ for now. You can only book for yourself and child below 18 as you are in one account. Prices are based on you two only.

Thank you CULLINAN

1- I will wait for my 19 year old to receive email and see whether or not he qualifies for Biometric reuse

2- Sadly I have no choice. I plan to take the £139 enhanced core end of Sept 2020

3- Good to know the price shown is for myself and my 15 yr old dependent. atleast we dont have to pay twice

Query:

1- Now If i book for 30th Sept and my 19 year old dependent doesnt get email at all whats happens?

2- If he gets an email to book an appointment- what if he doesnt get the same date and time with me on 30 th sept . Is that OK? Can he go by himself or do i have to go with him given he is applying through myself as the main applicant

on the guidance it says on page 8 Officials must check whether members of the same household have submitted separate applications.

3- Should I wait for 2-3 days to check if he also get an email so that we can all book for the same time slot

4- Is there a risk I will not find any appointments later if I delay booking the appointments given I am waiting for my son's email on Biometric reuse or not

Kindly confirm Mr CULLINAN

Sincerely Thanks again!!

1) He will get an email correspondence in due course.
2) He is 18+, he can go alone if need be.
3) You will have to wait for his email correspondence for his next steps to follow.
4) Its best to book for yourself and your child below 18 now. Appointments get booked quickly. You can always cancel and reschedule at a later date.

System is open for applicants who applied on/after 31st Aug even without an official update.

If he cant see any appointments, most likely he is chosen for biometrics reuse.

Download the UKVCAS app. Use his account details and try signing in the app and see it it works for him.

I am pretty hopeful UKVCAS app will work for him now.

Thank you CULLINAN. Great Idea I will check if the IDV app works for my 19 year old son.

Meanwhile I will wait for his email to come through but I will book today my biometric appointment with my 15 yr old dependent.

Given it can be cancelled and rescheduled with no extra charges or penalty I have no problems doing so.

Example: Can I do my biometric on 30th sept and can my 19 yr old dependent do 10 days later say 10th Oct. Would it be an issue?

Thanks again!!

No issues. But if he has access to the IDV app now, he can do it even now. Emails are pushed through later on. This has been the pattern from the past. System opens up before emails are pushed.

Also you can book an appointment at ANY centre. Scroll through. Use different postcodes. You may find a cheaper one given you are ready to travel.

You will have to wait for the email to come through or keep checking.
Check both UKVCAS website for appointments and UKVCAS IDV app also.

If he will get IDV app access, he can book an appointment instead also. He will have access to both systems.

If he gets access to booking appointment system but NOT IDV app, then it means he is not selected for biometrics reuse either (this case is less likely).

Possibly the IDV app access is not given yet. It may take a day or two.

Reading the biometrics reuse criteria again and thinking about your Child 18+, I think your Child 18+ will NOT be eligible for biometrics REUSE. Since the last time he enrolled in 2015, he was only 14.
the new grant of leave must not exceed a period beyond 5 years from when the fingerprints were last enrolled – we do not want to delete fingerprints before the person is either required to apply for further leave or leave the UK
• facial image must not be over 5 years old for persons aged over 16 and must not be over 2 years old for persons aged under 16
He should get access to the appointment booking system soon. Keep checking the UKVCAS appointments. Different locations also.

In case you need to cancel and reschedule:
Once you have booked an appointment, to rearrange or cancel your appointment, please log in to your account via the link in the top right-hand corner of this page, go to ‘Manage Services and Cancel Appointment’ and follow the steps provided. Alternatively, please call the customer service number provided in your confirmation email.
You should let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Please note that if you cancel your appointment within 48 hours of your designated appointment time, or fail to attend your appointment, we will retain the full appointment price paid.
Where you cancel a booked appointment and such cancellation is not within 48 hours of the appointment then we will retain a £10 administration charge from the price which you have paid for the appointment to cover any costs which we have incurred in booking, preparing for your appointment or cancelling your appointment.

Apparently the system is open for applicants who applied 28th Aug - 4th Sep. You can not see any appointments for Child 18+ via his account?

Hello Seniors,

Still nothing for my 18+ year old son as he made a separate application. No emails to book appointments or for IDV app usage. I checked on twitter with DM to UKVCAS. They said there is no issues with this application and that he can book an appointment from 21st Sept onwards.

However the new update on UKVCAS says anyone applied on or before 11 sept should have received emails. I am very confused.

Anyways I am going for my appointment on tuesday with my 15 yr old dependent son.

I will try to get appointment for my 18+ son on monday and try if we can get same place same time as myself ( manchester on Tuesday )

UKVCAS confirmed we can have 2 different appointments and they know a way to connect my applictaion with my 18+ yr old son

Will keep you posted. Any advice kindly let me know seniors

Regards,
