Online Form Help

Post by tonyc » Fri Sep 04, 2020 7:18 pm

When we arrive in UK we will be initially staying with relatives of my father and looking around for suitable accommodation for our family so the initial accommodation is temporary . 2 Adults and Two children aged 6 and 3

I have a letter from the relative as follows

Dear Sir/Madam

I , <Relatives Name> hereby confirm that I am the owner of the house located at

< Address of relative>

I confirm that the mortgage on that property is fully paid off .
I hereby confirm that there are 4 bedrooms, living room, dining room, Spam and a separate bathroom and toilet at this property
Myself and my wife are currently the only occupants that reside at the above address and there are three spare bedrooms.
I hereby confirm that I give my consent for the xxxxxx Family to reside in this property until they can find suitable accommodation for their family. During that period, they will be living in the accommodation and will not be charged rent.
I confirm that the housing will not break the housing overcrowding act .
Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me at
< UK Tel No>

< UK Name of Relative>
<Date>

On the online application at the gov.uk site it asks the following questions

Do you know where you will be living in the UK - I answered YES
After that it says Is this the home of a family member , friend or another person you know ? I answered YES
• It then asks for
o Name and Surname
o Relationship to you
o Telephone Number

It then goes on to ask
Will you be living anywhere else in the UK - This includes - I answered NO
• A hotel or B&B
• Accommodation provided by an employer
• A private home with friends or work colleagues
• accommodation provided by the educational institution where you will be studying
• any other type of accommodation

If I answer YES to the question of living anywhere else in the UK it asks again if you are staying with friends or relatives or in another persons home and please supply their name
It also states that it is okay if you have not confirmed the final details of your accommodation yet – Just give as many details as you can about
• addresses of friends or family you will be staying with
• when will you arrive there
• when will you leave there
• It then asks for no of bedrooms
• It then wants to know passport details of any occupants that live there

To make it easy I wanted to answer YES to "Do you know where you will be living in the UK ?"
and NO to Will you be living anywhere else in the UK AND supply letter from relative. Will that be the correct way to answer the questions

Above noc letter seems fine but it need to be complemented with ownership document such as title deed.

Hi Seagul

Yes I asked relative if he could supply that but he said that he cannot see anything in Appendix FM or Appendix FM-SE where it states that as a requirement

Do you have a link for me showing that document is required

Thanks

You won't find anywhere an exact checklist of documents pertaining to accommodation except few determinants (in below link) in establishing for UKVI as whether the occupation in the prospective accomodation will be legal. In real world especially over immigration matters an informally written letter has no worth including the noc letter which doesn't need any certification or notarisation. Therefore, the ownership document along with any utility bill preferably a council bill (optional) is highly desirable.

Hi Seagul

If relative doesn't complement noc letter with the title deeds is there a chance that the application will be invalid or would ECO just request title deeds ?

Thanks

In my unprofessional opinion, a noc letter alone will be insufficient because intrinsically UKVI caseworker screen & filter the things narrow mindedly. Also, we all know including caseworker that most of us always keep venturing out various ways to avoid/mitigate the heavy rents especially in London. So better to look elsewhere if you couldn't get that given the hefty none-refundable application fee.

Hi Seagul

Appreciate all your help and assistance
It is stressful enough without getting tripped up by a small document that in your opinion is required

Could the result from the following suffice

https://eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/e ... DSearch.do

Thanks

Tony

Yes it will work but before downloading it do let the property owner knows, because if at later it gets transpired that you are using that document without the knowledge of owner then the things might exacerbate.

It would be totally up to you but ethically & legally acquiring consent is paramount.
