Applied for extension of tier 4 visa due to work placement. No visa appointments are available ?

Hello there ,

I have applied for my tier 4 visa extension on 18th sep ( two days before my current visa expires) today is my last day of expiry.

But at the end of the application no visa appointment is available in any visa centres in the UK. Although I have uploaded and submitted all of the required documents on the UKVICAS website. I am still wondering that what will happen next?
Is there anyone else in similar situation or had dealt with?

Date of in time application is the date you submit and pay online and not the biometric appointment date.

Hello, yes I have applied and paid the same day which was 2 days ago and today is my last day of my current visa expiry. I am waiting for my Biometrics appointment as nothing is available at the moment.

Hello, when you submit the application your bank statement should be of 28th day at that time.
I think it’s best to ask this question from your university as it can cause a lot of issues.

No. You need to speak to your Tier 4 sponsor university urgently about your options, which may be limited to leaving the UK and applying in your home country.

Update:

Yesterday, on 23rd September at 7 AM, I have received an invitation email to use the UKVICAS IDV app for the submission of my documents and facial picture and travel document to verify my identity.

I have asked University to check if my CAS has been used and they said they’ll check it tomorrow morning (today).

I have submitted my documents and facial picture and identification in the evening yesterday on the same day 23-09-2020.

University confirmed that as I already have my previous biometrics, UKVI have selected me for re-using the old biometrics with the pilot scheme.

Now I’ll update when the university will get back to me.

P.S I had submitted my application on 18th September, 2020 (On Friday). And on the 3rd working day I have received the invitation to use the App.

I just want people to know the timeline about my visa and how long they can expect the decision to be due to made due to the coronavirus and things going on, if this makes sense.

I have received a reply from the university but I am hoping that someone will interpret this for me:

“ Hi Noman

As promised, I have now had a look at the status of your CAS for you.

It is still showing as “assigned” at today’s date.

Best wishes”

I don’t know what does “assigned” means when the university has checked my CAS in the UKVI database.
P.S that I have asked my university to check that if my CAS has been used or not and I have received the above reply.

I got an Escalation email this morning 7:04am that they will look into it but no specific time frame for them to decide. I escalated with a phone call 9days ago.

As compared to you I have received the invitation to reuse the biometrics just after a week of submitting the application.
