Post by bablug » Mon Oct 05, 2020 11:21 am

Dear Sirs

I have got my ILR approved last week. I have a query in regards to my Child application. He is on dependent Visa the moment. He is UK born. I have his indian passport. His visa is going to expired next month.

Can I apply for his british passport now or I need to extend his visa first ??

Can any one help me because If I need to apply for his visa I need extend my wife Visa and his visa but If I can apply for my son british citizen ship its saves my money for his extension.

Looking forward to hear from you seniors.

Hi @vinny

Thanks for update.

I spoke to solicitor and he is saying I can apply for his british passport only when I have nationality. Because
he is born in UK in 2017 and I got my ILR confirmation next week. I am bit confused..

I am worried about his extension application or british application. I dont know what I have to do now.

Hi @Vinny

thanks for update.

I did seen this now but I don't have this

evidence of parent’s British citizenship since the applicant’s birth, such as:
o a British passport
o a naturalisation certificate
o a registration certificate

If you can see Evidence required under section 1(3)

Second point is mandatory. How I can cover this point. rest I have all.

Looking forward to hear from you.

From Link:
evidence of parent’s settled status since the applicants birth, such as: o an indefinite leave to remain (ILR) stamp in a passport
o a Home Office letter
o a no time limit stamp
o a biometric residence permit (BRP) confirming ILR

Hi @Vinny

Do I need to ignore this

evidence of parent’s British citizenship since the applicant’s birth, such as:
o a British passport
o a naturalisation certificate
o a registration certificate

I just use the ILR catagory

Hi Viiny

I am struggling to fill an application form.

Do you currently hold, or have you ever held, any other nationality or citizenship?

What I need to choose Yes or No ?? My Son already have Indian passport??

If I press Yes what I need to enter here

Country of other nationality Type the name of a country; use the arrow keys to navigate and 'enter' to select one.
If you have additional nationalities, you will be able to add these later.

Date held from (Required)
Enter date in the format DD MM YYYY
If you are unsure of the exact date, provide the month and year
Day
Month
Year

Date held to (Required)
Enter date in the format DD MM YYYY
If you are unsure of the exact date, provide the month and year
Day
Month
Year

Confirm if you still hold this nationality (Required)

I still hold this nationality -

2) Are you relying on your parent's permanent residence (either as an EEA National or the family member of an EEA National) as evidence of their settled status in the United Kingdom?

What I need to choose Yes or No ??

3) Are you able to provide a biometric residence permit (BRP) card with this application?

Whose biometric card I need to send?? My son or Myself new one with settlement status??

Can u please help me with this.

1. Obviously it is yes if the child holds Indian nationality.

2. It is no.

3. It is the ilr brp card for you.

Day
Month
Year

Date held to (Required)
Enter date in the format DD MM YYYY
If you are unsure of the exact date, provide the month and year
Day
Month
Year

and I am entering his passport details and trying to save but its giving me an error that enter the past date..

If I download the form

Where the applicant is a child applying, one referee should be a professional who
has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health
