British Citizenship application for family including kids

Post by bowser1980 » Thu Oct 15, 2020 1:57 pm

Hi

I found this forum very helpful.

I, along with my wife and daughters age 21 and 15,  were granted ILR via 10 year in June 2019. Each of them filed their application individually. I am applying for citizenship. I have few queries:

1) Should we apply individually (including my 15 year old duaghter) via form AN.

2) Should my daughter apply only when one of the parents have granted citizenship?

3) How can we apply for the passport at the same time?

3) My understanding is that my 15 year old daughter don't need Life in the UK test and English language requirement.

4) Can I use family friends as references for all of us.
Professionals cant do that.

Thanks in advance. Your help is highly appreciated.

You can make a family application and add your child under 18. The child over 18 needs to apply on their own.

2. No, she can apply at the same time.

3. This option is no longer available and hasn't been since November 2018.

3. Correct. Only applicants over 18 need the tests.

4. You can use the same British referee and professional referee yes, provided the referees have each known each of you for 3 years.

Many thanks CR001.

Is there a separate form for family application?

If doctors is a family friend and not known to us in professional capacity, can we still use his reference for ourself and the child.

Thanks

Form AN will give you the option to add family.

Your profession referee only has to be a professional on the ukvi list. There is NO requirement that you just only know them in a professional capacity

Many Thanks CR001.

When I add my wife (as partner above 18) following question comes up:
You are filling application for someone else.
Is this because they are not able to complete the application themselves?
For example, because they are not of sound mind or have learning difficulties.
Yes or no
I will answer no.

I am wondering am I clicking the right sections or not?

What is the advantage of applying as a family?
What if my wife apply separately?

Thanks

Wee don't have sight of the inline applications forms.

If it allows you to add family, then go ahead, many have done this.
What is the advantage of applying as a family?
There is no advantage. Each person applying will have to meet the requirements individually and processing will be individually.
What if my wife apply separately?
Then she applies separately. It makes absolutely no difference.

Your referees cannot be rated to the applicant or to each other.

Thanks very much CR001.

Few more queries please:

1) What proof, other than passports, do I need to supply in regard to living in the UK for 5 years?

2) Do Ineed to mention the detials of 2 month visit outside the UK in April/May 201?

3) My English language certificate is expired 2 months ago. I submitted this with ILR. I think this is OK.

4) They asked for BRP and proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions. Dont know what is this?

5) My 18+ daughter and myself are separately. My wife and 15 year old daughter will apply on the same aplication. Hope this will be ok.

Thanks in advance. The forum is of great help.

1) Passport(s) covering the residency period are sufficient.

2) All absences for the 5 years residency period (counting back from the application date) - not clear which year you meant.

3) Yes - select appropriate option

4) It's your BRP.

5) Yes.

You ALL can be in the same account. The account allows you to add partner, Child below 18, Child above 18.

But now if you already have filled forms in separate accounts, do not bother.

Many thanks Cullinan, alterhase56 and CR001.

I have submitted aplication today 11/112020. The refree has signed the form on 23 Oct 2020. One of the refree signed on 10 Oct 2020.
Is this ok or do the refree need to sign the form after submission?
