Child benefits on Tier 2 visa

Post by tier22 » Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:37 am

I am on a sponsored tier 2 visa and my wife is a dependant. Our BRP cards state ' no access to public funds'.

We are expecting our fist child soon, and the information on claiming child benefits it really confusing. Some sites say it is possible, but then it will come back to bite you when applying for ILR, and others say it is not a public fund so no.

Anyone have any correct information out there?

You cannot claim child benefits or any form of benefits or tax credits.

Public funds guidance in link below.
