ILR Tier 2 Route with dependent wife and uk born child

Hi All,

I would be really appreciate help on following query regarding ILR on Tier 2.

I am on Tier 2 General VISA and entry clearance was granted 15th December 2015. My wife has been granted Tier 2 dependent VISA 16th January 2016. We both eligible for ILR and our VISA expires on 26th January 2021. My son born in the UK and I applied VISA as Tier 2 dependent to visit back home Sri lanka.

We are planning to apply ILR for both of us in December (Wife before 28 days). My question was how this affect my son status. He also has VISA until 26th January 2021. Can I apply naturalisation after we both get ILR? Is there any impact of overstaying for my son as we do not know when our ILR decision turn out.

Yes. Children are registered as British not naturalised.
