Dependant of an ILR holder

Hi Moderators,
just few questions
I have an ILR and my wife is on tier2 visa. she wants to be my dependant so that she can quit her work. my first question is!
1) what is the application called that she has to file to be a my dependant?
2) i heard that i have to show a certain amount of tax in order to make someone my dependant. can this tax be shown on both our incomes combined?
if yes, than how much should be the houshold income?

She will have to switch to FLR(M) and meet the visa specific requirements including the income threshold. Note her ILR clock will reset to zero.

hi,
just need clarification on time ll be reset to zero. does that mean her time spent on tier2 ll be wasted? but it sure does contribute to 10years route right? she came to UK in 2012 and we are looking forward to apply for her ILR in 2022 on 10years basis so, being my dependant will contribute to 10 years i guess.. just need your comments on this.. thankyoy

Yes there is an income threshold of £18600 assuming no additional dependant will apply. Refer to the following guidance to check as how does it actually work and other acceptable sources.

in my case, i have an ILR and and my wife on Tier2 but my first child is due in April 2021.
at the moment, we both meet the criteria of £18600 together. so is it a must that we have to apply for her to be my dependant before the birth of our first child?
or i have understood that the child will get the british passport as i have an ILR so my child ll not be counted as my dependant?

Yes child will be exempted from the financial threshold requirement. And since you are able to fulfill the income requirement so better to get her switched into the appropriate category (FLRM) sooner rather than later.

Where will the child be born? In UK? If the child is born in UK and you have ILR, the child will be British by Birth.

You are advised not to return your ILR BRP even after naturalisation in this case as your ILR BRP will be the proof for your child’s British Citizenship.
