Naturalisation Questions

Post by vkpaidisetty » Sun Nov 15, 2020 2:07 pm

Hi,

I have completed filling the application form.
However I wanted to confirm few questions before i submit the application.
They might sound silly but didn't want to risk the application fees :)

Application Questions
  • Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time- said yes and didn't ask any details other than previous convections. I haven't missed any thing right?
  • Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad -
I came as student Tier 4, then Tier 1 and was on Tier 2 until i got ILR and now applying for citizenship.
Does this mean that I need to fill all my previous visa application details.
If so I don't remember when the Biometrics are taken. Its not mandatory- should be ok?
  • Additional employment details - I did part time job during my university days. I believe i need to fill those details as well? If so i don't remember the exact start and end date. Any rough estimate should be ok?
  • Trips outside the UK - Past 5 years should be ok?
Documents Required
  • Proof of living in the UK-
It says Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you have been living in the UK.
So only P60 and Passport stamping for last 5 years. Do i need to provide anything else here?
For passport stamps do i need to arrange in chronological order since my stamps are all over the place.
  • Applicant Passport Copy
  • Proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions - will this be applicant's BRP as well?
  • English Evidence
  • Life in the UK Evidence
  • Two referee declarations
  • Current Biometric Residence Permit
Thanks in Advance

Right

You need to list all UK immigration applications. Dates are “if known” question
  • Additional employment details - I did part time job during my university days. I believe i need to fill those details as well? If so i don't remember the exact start and end date. Any rough estimate should be ok?
Estimate is fine. Clarify in cover letter
  • Trips outside the UK - Past 5 years should be ok?
Trips during your qualifying period i.e. 5 years.

Documents Required
  • Proof of living in the UK-
It says Bank statements or household bills are not suitable proof you have been living in the UK.
So only P60 and Passport stamping for last 5 years. Do i need to provide anything else here?
    No
For passport stamps do i need to arrange in chronological order since my stamps are all over the place.
No. Just scan passport as it is
  • Applicant Passport Copy
  • Proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions - will this be applicant's BRP as well?
Yes
  • English Evidence
  • Life in the UK Evidence
  • Two referee declarations
  • Current Biometric Residence Permit

No template needed. Just mention a short note. You can even mention at the end of the online form where it asks you to add anything extra you want to be considered.

I have now submitted the application and booked date for Biometrics.
So while uploading documents they want me to upload in either greyscale or black & white.
Will there be an issue if i upload documents which are in colour?

Thanks in Advance

No. Colour is better. Greyscale is only an advisory if you can not contain file size below 6MB each.

Thanks for your reply.

I am not keen in writing a cover letter :D

However, the dates of my first job (part time) during my Uni days are a rough guess.

So, do i need to clarify them in a cover letter or should be fine without it?

I also have different question re timelines.

When checking few timelines posted by different people i can see the decision is made in 4-6 weeks.

So my question is, I have my biometrics in 4 weeks time. So will i get a decision after 8-10 weeks?

Thanks in Advance

The online space provides a section at the end of the form in case you want to mention something which could be considered for the decision. You can mention there also

Processing times differ. The standard is 6 months

You have to take your original passport for the appointment. They will return your passport after the appointment.

hello, i am back with a question :)

I have bio-metrics in weeks time so getting ready with the originals.
I am showing P60 as proof of living in UK for last 5 years.
I don't have originals, so question is do i need to print color copies and take them with me?

Also for proof of living they clearly mentioned one cannot use either bank statements or utility bills.
So i have submitted P60 and passport stamps.
For safety do I need to upload bankstatements and utility bills as well?

Also do i need print application form?

Thanks in Advance

Passport stamps only.

No need to print or upload application form. It is for your own records only.

Thanks for your help, I have given my bio-metrics and got a response saying British Citizenship Application is successful.

So will we be British Citizens from that date or only after ceremony?
The only reason I am asking since needed fill few forms and confused with the status.

Thanks in Advnace
