Application documents for SET(M)

Post by board2018 » Wed Dec 02, 2020 2:39 pm

It’s been a while since I applied for FLRM and this time we are applying for SET(M) under the 5year route. We have chosen not to use a lawyer as this platform has been very useful to me previously. Can a moderator please check the documents and let me know if I have missed out anything. I would really appreciate the help.

Application form
Current and previous passports for myself and my partner
My current BRP

Mortgage offer letter

Payslips for 12 months for me + partner
Employment letter confirmation for me + partner of what we are earning annually and our job roles and when we started working for the company.
Bank statements confirming salary going into current account - me+partner
P60’s - me+ partner

Life in the U.K. certificate

English language requirements
Degree confirmation from U.K. university
Transcripts from U.K. university

Marriage certificate

Cohabitation documents (spread over 2.5 years)
Joint names
Council tax letters
NatWest statements
Thames Water Letters
British Gas letters
Poll Cards
Mortgage statements - Halifax
Contents and life insurance letters
House service charge letters

Individual
NHS letters
Pension letters

Partner
Sky letters
DVLA

Deceleration form

Do I need need to provide any photos of us together ?
Also my partner gets paid weekly but his last statement is 24th November. Does he need to get the most recent bank statement printed and stamped ?

If there is anything else you think would help strengthen the application could you let me know. Thanks for much.

Photos aren't required when applying from UK. The last bank statement must not be older than 28 days from the date of application and an online statement without printinging or stamping can work provided resembles to original. Documents seems fine. Also don't attach P60s as a financial document rather an evidence of cohabitation.

Thanks Seagul we have all our paper statements at home but downloading them online was so much easier than scanning and uploading through every page.
My partner gets paid weekly. And his statements can be downloaded until the 24th Nov showing the pay going into the account. As it is within 28 days of application I won’t bother him to go to the bank for a more recent statement.

I also wanted to check on the English language requirements. There seems to be a change with the language requirements. I have an Hons degree certificate taught in the U.K. in English would be be sufficient?
I think this should be fine but just checking.

If you mean Bachelor honours degree then should be enough to meet the requirement.

Covering letter is totally an optional piece of document which can be very effectual especially when you need to address something. In my view, financial calculations should be addressed in it.
