Apply for Naturalization 1 month in advance

Hi Folks,

Asking in behalf of my colleague and would be useful for me later as well.

His ILR (Set O) was issued 7Jan20. So, he is eligible to apply for Naturalization from 7Jan21. However, as UKVCAS appointments are only available rolling 4weeks, can he complete his online form now and give his biometrics later (he has his sabbatical planned for July and hence the hurry). Assuming one has to have 12M qualifying stay on the decision date.

UKVCAS says, the documents we upload online are already visible to Case worked even before biometrics. Would that impact him negatively?

Date of application is the date you submit and pay online. He must apply when he is eligible, ie the full 12 months after ilr.

He is not making an immigration application where there are concessions in the rules. Nationality rules as separate and different.
