Hello, I need urgent help please.
We will be applying for ILR for my spouse (5 year route) in less than a month (roughly 15/02/2021) and it appears that we have a problem with providing proof of my self employment Income.
Here is the financial situation in the last 12 months:
- February 2020 - employed as an accounts assistant (Agency - short fixed term contract) (meeting 18,600) ended last day of February 2020
- March 2020 - unemployed the whole month (DUE TO COVID) - new contract never started.
- April until end of November 2020 - self-employed as a delivery driver (Amazon, then Deliveroo) (meeting 18,600 on average basis)
- End of November to date of application - employed as an accounts assistant, permanent with probation period (meeting 18,600)
So in the last 12 months I have earned over 18,600 gross from all the self-employment and employment combined.
The question is how do I show a Self Assessment Tax Return if the financial year I had the income in isn't over yet and I cant submit the Tax Return before the year end, i.e. 5 April 2021. The guidance says that I must show a Tax Return for the last financial year as a proof of income and I cannot find information in the guidance on the self employment income in the current financial year. So can I NOT count on the self employment income in the current financial year?? I have earned it and have the proof on the bank statements and Invoices.
I would really appreciate your expertise opinion and advise on this please.
Thank you.
