Would ILR clock reset?

Post by shitalg » Tue Jan 05, 2021 6:35 pm

Hello,

I and my wife both are applying for the new Skilled worker Visa and my query is that after a year if I give up my Skilled worker visa and switch on my wife's dependant visa would my clock to ILR reset?

As per my search on the internet, if you switch from an ILR eligible visa to another ILR eligible visa the clock for ILR does not reset.

The clock resets.

You need 5 years as main visa holder for ilr. You also need 5 years on the dependents visa for ilr. You cannot combine main visa time and dependent time to make up 5 years for ilr.

If we both get a Skilled visa in 2021 and I give up my skilled visa and after 2 years if I go on my wife's skilled visa as a dependant so while getting and ILR do I loose those 2 yrs and would I get ILR 2 years after my wife gets ILR?

does this make sense?
