British Citizenship for Kids

Post by tier2g » Thu Sep 10, 2020 1:35 pm

Recently I got ILR. I would like to check if I can apply for British Citizenship for my kids?
My kids born in UK one is 2013 and other in 2017.Please advise if I can apply for British Citizenship for my kids or do I need to wait till I get British passport ? also, I haven't applied for my wife ILR and kids absences similar to my wife mentioned previously below.
"My wife was on Tier2 ICT PBS Dependent since 2012 visa till 2017 (visa end date 4th August 2017).She Left the UK on 8th July and applied to switch Tier1 PBS dependent visa from India on 1st August got BRP vignette (8sep2017 - 8oct 2017) but unfortunately, my wife had an accident and didn't' travel so, renewed 30 days vignette on 21st October 2017 and got a visa from 8th Nov17 and entered to the UK on 5th December."

UK born children are entitled to be registered as British Citizen once one of the parent(s) gets ILR. You can register them as BC via MN1.

Yes. There is NO absence limit for Children.
do I need to wait till I get British passport ?

No.

This is not the correct topic or sub forum to ask questions about your wife's ILR eligibility. Please don't copy and past a duplicate post you have already posted yesterday about ILR in the British citizenship sub forum.

From below which option should I select as a parent in declaration section ?

I confirm that: (Required)

I am an applicant and I am authorised to act on behalf of the other applicants and have discussed and confirmed the contents of this application with them

I am a representative of the applicants and have been authorised to act on their behalf and have discussed and confirmed the contents of this application with them

Also, should I say no to below , I will apply next year .

Are either of the parents of the child (as stated in this application) applying for naturalisation as a British citizen on an AN form?

Select No. There is no requirement for a parent(s) to apply for BC along with a UK born child.

As you have got certificates of registration for them, you can apply for passports for them in the usual manner.
