Hello. This is my first post here so please be kind.
I am a British citizen and my husband is American and currently in the USA. We are in the process of compiling documents for his visa application.
My question is regarding accommodation. I currently rent a large room in a shared flat with three others (so four in total), the landlord is happy for my husband to move here and is happy to provide a letter saying he is happy for my husband to come here. However use the rules of HMOs currently the house does not have to have a HMO licence. If my husband moves here, there will then be five people here and so as I understand it it will.
We are getting a housing report from a chartered surveyor and will provide a letter from the landlord saying he has no objections. Will this be okay or will the lack of HMO registration cause an issue.
The place has 5 bedrooms and so overcrowding isn't an issue.
Please help thank you.
