Dependent visa for elderly widowed mother

Dear All,

Can any body update if there is any improvement in approval for elderly dependent visa?

I want to apply for my widowed mum. She is 74 year old. We recently loss our dad. I am desperate to keep her with me in UK.

If any body in this forum can recommend solicitor with experience in handling this type of visa, I would really appreciate for your help.

1. No improvement in approval rates. Still the most difficult and most refused visa to get.

(a) Recommendations for solicitors and other professionals are not allowed on these forums.

(b) Be aware that ADR visas for Adult Dependent Relatives are very hard to get. You need to probe that
(i) they need help with carrying out day-to-day functions like bathing, washing up, etc AND
(ii) that such care is either unvaialbale or unaffordable in their country of habitual residence.

Proving (ii) is practically impossible for most countries in the world.

Home Office stats show that even after appeals, only one in every five such applications succeed. Thus, four out of five such applications fail.

Also keep in mind that if such an application fails, your mother will be unlikely to every visit you in the UK again as she has demonstrated a wish to reside in the UK (by applying for the ADR visa).
