Regarding IHS Fee for Skilled Worker Dependant Visa

Hi,

I am a British Citizen, got my ILR through Tier 2 General visa.
My partner, is currently on PBS Dependent visa, which is expiring in next month.

My questions as below:
* Based on my understanding, my partner should apply for Skilled Worker (Dependant) visa for extension (as PBS Dependent category doesn't exists anymore). Is it correct?
* If above is correct, on IHS website, the visa type is being shown as 'Skilled Worker (Dependant) 5 Year'. Does it mean, we should pay IHS fee for 5 years (instead of 3 years). If yes, it would be, £624 x 5 = £3120?

Hello,

Since your post was latest in this category and my case is similar to yours (ILR fee confusion), so better to combine.
History: (Got ILR on Tier 2 (Gen), while wife is still on Tier-2 Dependant visa (expiring end of Feb 2021). She had been in Uk since 3 years and hence needs to be extended under Dependant of Skilled worker category to avoid resetting ILR Clock (correct me please if I'm wrong).

From several other posts and/or replies from moderator "CR001", it is suggested to
A. first in a reply, to enter 'work end date' as 3 years from date of application to pay correct IHS fee.

Here is my experience: I have tried to fill up several applications by varying various dates just to see what is IHS fee outcome (but did not paid in any case yet).
Conclusion: IHS fee varies only by changing main applicant "visa end date", regardless what ever start/end work date is entered.

So my Questions are;

1. Are we not giving wrong information to HO while entering the wrong visa end date? (which is actually an ILR, means no end date. Only ILR-BRP card has an expiry date). I am entering end date as 28-Feb-2023 while my card has expiry 31-Dec-2024.

2, if we can enter a suitable visa end date to get the right IHS fee, can I enter a visa date shorter than 3 years which results 2-year IHS fee? Because my wife needs slightly less than 2 years further T-2 dependant extension to qualify for ILR.

I will highly appreciate a prompt assistance from moderators , since my partner must apply soon (visa expiry 28 Feb 2021).

>> Visa expiry date, work start and end dates doesn't seem really matter. These need to be guessed. But need to make sure, we pay 3 years IHS fee, to cover full visa duration.
For example if we are applying for a visa, on 20th Feb 2021, these dates can be as below:
* Work Start date: 15th Feb 2021
* Work End date: 14th Feb 2024
* Visa expiry date: 14th Feb 2024
(Need to check, if IHS calculator asks for 3 years fee, for above dates)

* Visa route - Visa type - Form doesn't show an option 'Tier 2 General' in select list.
>> We will select Skilled Worker from the list, as it is the most closer option to Tier 2 General

Yes, it is extracted from visa form to IHS form - so non-editable.

I selected 'more than 3 years'.
I selected COS length: 3 years or less. If you select 3 years in visa form, it may show you 3 years option on IHS form, (but again, it calculate IHS Fee bsed on what you answer for Visa expiry date of main applicant)

If you are referring to Visa form where it ask about: if main applicant has ILR/nationality and then ask about their visa rout;

Sorry I am referring to IHS form. There is a section on this form called 'You're joining or remaining with this person in the UK'. In this section, it asks the Visa route and Visa type of main applicant (in our case, person who has ILR/British Citizenship). I got ILR through Tier 2 - General visa route, however there is no such option to select in the select list on this form. So I have to select visa route as 'Skilled Worker' and visa type as 'Skilled Worker 3 Year'.
When are you booking your appointment, if your partner's visa is expiring in 2 weeks time. Do you have enough time, to complete this process before expiry of the current visa?

I just have applied for it. Can please tell me which date should be entered in this section?

If I enter my work end date as the expiry date (my start date and end date as the main applicant are 1 June 2021 and 31 May 2023, respectively), the IHS fee is calculated wrongly: 2,257 USD (for 2 years and 6 months) instead of 1,806USD (for 2 years). Can you please help me to solve this problem?

Hi Guys,

I recently applied my wifes tier 2 entension visa. I am also ILR holder through tier 2 General.

While paying the IHS - I put the my visa expiry date as May 2024 - which was not correct. I put this as my wife's 5 years on tier 2 getting complete on this date. Actual date of ILR expiry is dec/2021. I explained this in main applicants cover letter that why I have put the wrong date for IHS to be calculated correctly.

I submitted the application and done biometric on 24th May 2021.

So far so good up to this step.

on 9th June we recv the email - as below

"Dear XX XXX,
Thank you for submitting an application for permission to stay in the United Kingdom.
I note that you have paid the application fee that relates to the shortage occupation fee.
Unfortunately as your spouse’s most recent Leave to Remain application was not considered to be shortage occupation at that time and the application attracted the full fee. Due to this, you are required to pay an additional £240 to bring it up to the required fee.
Please pay the required fee no later than 22 June 2021"

I dont know why they saying the my SOC code was not in shortage list - as it was 2135 which is still in shortage list. or may be now I m ILR holder they dont consider Spouse as Tier 2 Visa holder.

anyhow they send the doc with the email to fill in details to pay more fees which I did last week. But uptil now money has not been taken by UKVI.

has anyone is the similar situation who could help in this regard? I also tried to call ukvi paid phone service but just kept me on hold for 15 mins and than I hanged up the phone.
