Post by dxbdxb » Wed Mar 24, 2021 1:29 pm

Dear Memebers thanks for your continue support and advice.

My Mrs and daughter got the approval email today for (LR) ILR.

I am a british Citizen, i would like to apply for my Mrs and daughter(12 year old) Naturalisation.

1. Do i need to wait for 12 months for them to apply?
2. what will be the fee for my 12 years daughter?

Please need your advice.

1. No, provided your wife meets the 3 years requirement etc. to apply as spouse of British citizen, including the physically present requirment 3 years ago on the date she applies.

2. £1012.

No. Assuming that both of them are in the UK, they can both apply immediately after getting ILR. Your wife will need to meet the absence requirements for the spouse of a British citizen (including being physically present in the UK exactly three years before the date of application).

The current fees is about £1012 for the registration application. There will be further fees for the passport and other ancillary Home Office services.

EDIT: Overtaken by CR001's much more succinct response.

Thanks for your quick response.

Actually my mrs and daughter was only absence from the uk last year, from 14 March 2020 to 22 June 2020, which is 69 days absence from the uk in 5 years time, what documents do we need?
I am on universal credit at the movment this will make any difference?
I heard that for children the naturalisation registration fee is less than the adult fee.?
Please advice.

The form will tell you what you need at the end. It is minimal documents.

No.

It is. The adult fee is £1330, child fee £1012 plus biometric fee of £19.20 each plus the UKCVA appointment fee if you cannot get a free appointment to enroll biometrics.

I ask my Mrs sorry my Mistake, she said she was absent from the uk in the last time years for 100 days.

The absence was last year she was stuck for 100 days becuase of the pandemic no return flights from back home.
If she apply 100 days will make any trouble for her? the same will apply for my daughter?

Residency requirements
You must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years before the date of your application.

You cannot include any time spent in the UK when you’re exempt from immigration control as a:

diplomat
member of a diplomat’s staff or household
member of visiting armed forces
Time you’ve spent outside the UK
You should not have:

spent more than 450 days outside the UK during the 5 years before your application
spent more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months
broken any UK immigration laws (for example living illegally in the UK)

Which form are you completing? Only adults naturalised on form AN.

Child are registered on form MN1. No English requirement, so you must be completing the wrong form.

Yes form AN. You should get an option to add your daughter.

To clarify further. Same account but different forms. Your wife will create an AN account and fill her form. Then you can add your daughter in the same account (account gives an option to add family members). Choose “Child below 18” when you add her as she is 12. The form will automatically adapt to MN1 for the child.

The guidance is clear for both adult and child criteria:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... on_MN1.pdf

For accepted professional person list see:
Page 25
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 2.0ext.pdf

For child: You need someone who has professionally engaged with the child like health visitor, teacher, minister of religion etc. Contact them first, if you have problems, add a cover letter and explain, arrange other referee as per the adult criteria for child also in this case.
