Language requirement

Post by nini1362 » Wed Apr 07, 2021 3:50 pm

Hello,

I have been living in the UK for about 5 years, and I am in the process of applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain. The language test which I took 5 years ago for my Tier2 visa is still among the recognised tests but the test centre where I sit the test is no longer on the list.

The UK immigration guidelines indicate that one can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

a. it’s on the current list of recognised tests
b. it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter.

In light of this, am I correct in assuming that I can use the same language certificate for my upcoming Indefinite Leave to Remain?

Thanks!

They do not require English Language evidence for ILR under the Skilled worker route anymore.

Are you sure? They specifically say that you "need to prove your knowledge of the English language if you’re 18 or over and applying for citizenship or to settle in the UK (known as ‘indefinite leave to remain’)". Any help?
