Can i change the ceremoney to my local council please.

Post by intrusive » Sat May 01, 2021 2:53 am

Hi there guys i have a question regarding my ceremoney,
I Had opted for Birmingham council instead of my council because that council used to offer virtual ceremonies. They gave me 6 july 2021 date which is not suitable to me as i have a baby due in early July and i am the sole carer of my wife and a daughter. That date is also very late its more than two months from the letter of invitation date. i cannot believe my eyes when i opened and saw the letter from Birmingham council.
Does any one have any idea can i change it to my local council in Worcester please. or any one knows how to expedite it with birmingham council, or does any one have idea how to request them to arrange a online ceremony for me please.
Many Thanks.

Do not even think about changing your council at this stage unless you are ready to face a nightmare. It took ages to change the council even pre-corona.

Given corona, you are possibly looking another 3-6 months or more to get it changed.

Stick with birmingham. Ask them to let you know if there is any earlier cancellation etc. Otherwise, attend when they offer. You will need to check with them what options they offer. Many councils offer private paid/virtual ceremonies also upon availability.
