Error on LIUK test certificate . Help

Post by Muffin007 » Mon Aug 16, 2021 11:48 am

Hello

please I need your advice for one of my friends who has done a stupid mistake

he told his son to book his Liuk test for him. His son used his middle name to make the booking (because that is what he is called at home by family) and this middle name is not on any of his documentation.

So he put " Sam " for example when booking the test and his name is John Doe though Sam is his middle name at home which is not on any of his Docs

What do you advise please? should he do the test ?

he has asked someone on the helpline number (immigration office ) and she said he can submit the certificate and a covering letter and that should be fine.

Thank you

Has he taken the test already? Why not re book the test than end up having issues with home office.
The test centre should have noticed it when checking the documents ID if he has already taken the test.

To be honest im actually surprised he was allowed to take the test even when the documents dont match, though it was the same surname.

i really think that is a flaw on their part as well

but just not to complicate things when he sends this over, i told him to redo the test and he said they told him on the immigration helpline that it was ok and he should just write a covering letter?

I personally would have done the test but do you think he can go ahead?

I think he is just scared of failing because he is quite elderly and not sure if he can pass again

Also, does he have to submit another proof of English language requirement since he has passed the Liuk test?

he is applying through EU settled status route

Thanks a lot

The Home Office helpline is outsourced to a third party contractor (i.e. they are not Home Office staff) and we have frequently seen examples of incorrect advice from them on these forums. I would not always follow ther advice.

How old is he?

English language test and the LITUK test are two separate requirements and your friend needs to provide evidence of both.

I'd get him to do the LITUK test again. And make sure that whoever is booking the tests is doing so with the exact same name(s) as on their current passport.

Thanks a lot secret.simon

He is 55 so he thinks he may not pass the test maybe if he does it again and he believes if he does it again, it may cause conflicting information with the HO system

Please can i know where to get the link to documents/guidance to submit for someone applying through EU settled status?

I applied through 10 yr route ILR so the requirements may be different. I have printed out the AN form

Thanks a lot

The requirements are the same for everyone, regardless of route to settled status or ilr. Other than proving his residence with documents such as P60s etc, everything else is the same

He needs both English B1 test and liuk. They are both mandatory.

Doing the test more than once is irrelevant to UKVI. He simply needs to pass
