Citizenship

Post by Ammer1 » Sat Feb 20, 2021 9:36 am

My wife came here in October 2009 and was granted ilr i think in 2011 but we never applied for citizenship. She completed her life in the uk test and b1 test also. Will she have any problems applying for citizenship

Has she had any absence of two years or more from the UK after getting ILR?

When were the test taken?
- LITUK test is valid for life.
- English test (B1 normally) is valid for two years?

She will need a new English B1 test that is not expired and on the current ukvi approved list.

After 12th Nov 2015, B1 SELT is mandatory.

Also:
If your qualification has run out
Some recognised test qualifications only last for 2 years. You can still use a B1 level qualification that you took more than 2 years ago in 2 situations.

Applying for citizenship
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and it was accepted when you settled in the UK.

But the above is not the case, B1 SELT was taken in 2018, clearly can not be used to settle in 2011. It is not valid anymore.
