British citizenship

Post by Dave0777 » Sat Nov 06, 2021 4:30 pm

Hi.
I am on ESA (Employment support Allowance) and PIP (Personal Independence Payment) because I am disabled after an illness.
I have ilr Since one year and I'm starting soon my application for British Citizenship.
1.Will the fact that I am on benefits affect my application?
2.Do I have to mentioned that I am disabled on my application?
If yes that will delay my application?

Hi,

Are there any rules on when the referees need to sign the declarations? Should it be before or after you submit the application? If before, does it have to be within a certain time frame?

There are no specific rules as to when referees should or need to sign - in my view either before or after the application is not issue. However, if before then probably not older than a month. I wouldn't wait for too long after the submission date - sometimes referees lined up may change their minds ....

You can apply 17 December - note that it may probably be unlikely you get a biometrics appointment before you go on holidays. Why not apply when you return?

Please note this explanation from the AN Guidance Page 6: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... _final.pdf

The residence requirements:
• You must have been physically present in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern
Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands on the day 5 years before the
application is received by the Home Office.
• For example, if your application is received on 05/01/2022 you should have been
physically present in the UK on 06/01/2017.
• Most applications that fail do so because applicants have applied even though they
cannot satisfy the residence requirement to be present in the UK at the beginning
of the residential qualifying period

British citizenship biometric appointment

Post by Dave0777 » Sun Nov 21, 2021 3:35 pm

I was trying to book a free appointment in one month advance as I have already ukvcas account for my last ilr application but couldn't log in it's said invalid login details.
I tried to reset my password but didn't get the link I checked my spam folder nothing.
By the way can I book an appointment in advance without submitting my application?
Any thoughts would be appreciated?

You cannot book a biometric appointment before you have submitted the application for citizenship.

I submitted naturalisationapplication & now ready to scan documents to UKVCAS.
Question: I tried to scan the whole passport in greyscale. But the file size is 6.85MB. It mentioned the maximum size is 6MB. Is there any suggestion for downsizing ?
I am using CamScanner.
