Me and my partner are currently living together in the UK (1 year and 8 months) and are looking to get married and eventually a long term visa for her here. We had an appointment to give notice of marriage last month but because we both ended up getting covid we were not able to make this appointment. She is coming up to the deadline of her having to leave the UK (the end of February) and whilst we have rearranged the date of giving notice, the earliest available date was for April, far past her deadline.
Another complication of her getting covid was that it meant that she needed to delay her second shot of the vaccine. For her to be able to return to Japan without incurring very high fees is to take the second shot in the UK and then leave for Japan, and so this is another reason we would very much like to have this extension.
Unfortunately, we have extended her stay in the UK twice by half a year through 2 exceptional assurances that were given to her. The last one she received it was clearly stated that this would be the maximum amount of time she would be given through this means to stay in the UK. We are wondering how it would be possible to be able to extend her stay for just a short while till we are able to arrange our giving notice and being able to send the Visa application off. (At which point we are able to wait for the results of this before her having to return to Japan, if I am correct).
