Holiday while waiting for the Naturalization decision

Post by flyingv26 » Mon Apr 11, 2022 10:18 am

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for your help, this forum has been amazing in my journey. I have received my ILR today. I am eligible for naturalisation straight away but I have a holiday booked for the whole month of July this year, my question is would it make a difference if
1/ the decision is back before July but I don’t have enough time to apply for passport
2/ the decision is pending or it comes while I’m on a holiday
In short should I apply for naturalisation or wait till after my holiday. My husband thinks I shouldn’t wait as I’ve had my biometrics taken in November so they’ll be able to reuse them if I apply now. Please share your suggestions and advice. Much grateful x

1/ the decision is back before July but I don’t have enough time to apply for passport
You are only British from the date you have attended your ceremony and not the date of decision. You can only apply for a passport after you have attended your ceremony, not at any point before.
2/ the decision is pending or it comes while I’m on a holiday
You are free to travel.

Thank you for your helpful reply. So essentially my holiday shouldn’t affect my application in any way, right?

You are free to travel. You are not held hostage by UKVI while a citizenship application is pending.

Hi I wonder if anyone could help me, I’ve reached the part immigration details.
Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad? Yes
It the carries on asking the name of applicant, where the application was made and if fingerprints were taken? My question is do I have to give details of all my applications that I made? I was on a 10 year route.
Yes, all UK visa applications as the question asks

Thank you for your quick response. And sorry I might have posted it again without realising that you have already replied here. Slightly off topic and if you don’t mind me asking but I’m always curious, do you get any incentive for helping/ replying here or is it totally voluntary? In any case I’m truly grateful :)
