Dear Advisor,
I’m planning to apply for citizenship.
All my close Friends are either holding an ILR or Tier 2 work visa and working in Uk , now im trying approach to other people like previous landlord where I stayed for 3+ years , but I don’t have a hope that anyone will come forward to share their passport number and sign the referrel form , can you advise what other options are available if I can’t get British passport holder to share their DoB and pass no and sign the referral form ?

You must have one referee who is British and over 25 years of age. There is no discretion on this. Have you tried to find a religious leader, pharmacist, dentist etc who would be willing and knows you??

One of the major requirements of being British is that you must have infused with your society. You probably would have found a question like this in your LITUK test. They need to know that you are one with your local environment, neighbours, work, GP et al.
You exactly can't satisfy that angle if you don't have a British person that you've formed a good relationship with.

Why is that?

I'm afraid that, to the Home Office, this would be a a red flag showing that you have not integrated into British society. It suggests instead that you have remained within your own national community (not saying that's necessarily the case or that's bad; and a discussion on advantages or disadvantages of closed national communities is valid and complex. The point is, the Home Office does not like it).

As others have said, there is a reason the application requires British referees. To become a British national you must have integrated into British society. One aspect of that is being able to speak English; another, is being familiar with aspects of practical life in the UK; and another... is to have attained a level where you have developed a reasonable connection with at least one adult British national. To prove the first two aspects, there are exams and diplomas. To prove the last one, there are referees. It's simply one of the requirements, and as others have said, it is non negotiable.

Just as in the hypothetical case of you just failing an English test because you need more practice or study, if you feel like you are not in a position to ask any adult British national to be your referee, then maybe you are not ready to apply to become a British citizen yet? Consider joining a club, attending courses, doing some volunteering, and in general, engaging in activities that will put you in touch with British nationals, on a regular basis. Not as a one-off, not just with the only purpose of finding a referee, but with the genuine interest of engaging with British nationals. Then apply in a fews years time when you feel you have found someone who can vouch for you and meets the requirements. I'm sorry, that's all I've got in terms of concrete steps you can take now.

I have never asked even close friends or brother to share their passport details so far (so nationality doesn’t matter ,it’s issue of sensitivity)
Anyways I haven’t approached anyone so far holding British passport to provide referral sharing their passport details . I had few referrals in the past from my manager and my neighbours for my home letting agreements and job referrals , but never asked them for their Personal Identifiable Information (PII) like passport etc, anyway if that’s req. then let me try thanks all

Seems this is more a cultural perception than anything else then, and you might be overthinking this. If you would not ask your brother for their passport number, then who would you ask? That's an indication you are approaching this from an extreme angle. Think about it, and it might help you lower that impossible threshold of trust you are imposing yourself.

Sharing a passport number is not necessarily a super sensitive issue, at least it didn't seem to me, that the 4 people I approached to be our referees thought twice about it or were bothered by it.They are all our friends, but at least two were not that close. It's people I trust in general, and that I feel they'd trust me, and that have known me fore more than 3 years. That's about it.

Dear advisor, I had some outstanding payments of less than £200 from hmrc and some council payment that very old has been all cleared within last 2 years , there are some follow ups letter send to old property but those letters aren’t handed over to me and only when I was made aware and I I cleared it immed., Will these old dues and payments made against it will it impact the decisioning ? Do I need to mention these things in appln ? And submit proofs?

Don't see how they can be a problem. You're overthinking it.

Being in debt as such is not an issue - if you do fall behind or forget the main thing is you comply or have complied with your obligations and arrangements you have in place. There is no need to mention these, except if you had a CCJ against you, and even then it's no an issue if you cleared them.

2) The decision around id&v app usage. Have anyone received id&v usage confirmation before 7 working days ?

3)the address proof for 5 years , should I share more than 1 proof in such way spread across several months for every year ?

4) do I need upload the documentation scanned copies in Ukvcas documentation section or will it be done through id&v app itself ?

Nothing happens. No change to visa.

Some have, many not.

There is NO requirement to submit address proof.

You need to follow the guidance based on what option you have been given for biometrics.

Hello All,

Is anyone aware whether the referees are contacted from home office via phone or email ,

do I need to inform referees to expect any call or mail from homeoffice with sender as atlas home office or they may be asked to register or fill in some form ?

There is no guidance when and how they wil be contacted ?

what if referee is unavailable in summer vacation or accidentally deletes assuming it’s spam email ?

Generally referees are not contacted, at least we haven't seen this being reported here.

I’m applied only for myself and not for dependants , hence i have only submitted the first party/applicant consent form , but some of accounts like council and water are joined accounts , do I need to submit my spouses consent as well to allow home office to perform civil records check ?

If it’s required then I have missed it , how do I share my spouses consent form after submission.

Spouse consent is not required for anything. The application is in your own right.
