British citizenship ceremony advise

Post by mandeep09 » Tue Jun 21, 2022 10:02 am

Dear all,

Would be much appreciated if someone please advise,
I have received an email from HO as the application is approved and they have told me to contact the local council. I have emailed the local council and they don’t have any dates available within 2 months!

Am I allow the other council (different cities) to check if they have anything sooner? Or I only have to stick with my council ?

Many thanks

You only have the option of your Council. To change councils you have to notify ukvi and the council, the certificate then gets sent back to ukvi before it is redirected to another council. This can take many many weeks.

Have you asked ypur council about a private ceremony? They charge an extra fee for this.
