Employer letter confirming continuation of work

Post by aridavho » Mon Jul 04, 2022 2:19 pm

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I want to say thank you to this forum and all of the helpful advice on here, it has all been a really big help! I am now at the final stage of applying for ILR through Ancestry Visa.

My employer has given me a letter-headed, dated letter confirming my employment, job title, start date and salary.

I have asked them to include that I will continue to work for my employer while waiting for an outcome on my application. They are not able to do this as it is a standard letter they 'cannot edit'. I have also asked if they could stamp the letter and provide a contact phone number of the HR department, but again, they cannot edit the letter to include anything else. The HR team said that the info provided will be sufficient.

Will this be an issue? I've read elsewhere that the letter must include confirmation from the employer that I will continue to work for them while waiting for an outcome on my application.

They need to say that you are needed for the foreseeable future

Thanks for your help, Zimba.

Just to confirm, this is even if I am in the UK on an Ancestry Visa rather than a skilled worker visa?

No, this is not required for an Ancestry Visa holder. Usually helpful to post your visa route when starting a topic as all routes have different rules and requirements.

Thanks a lot for your speedy reply!

Apologies, I included in the original post but I should have been clearer. Thank you both again and have a nice day!
