Hi
I am reading through the Guidelines and it says you are allowed to apply for ILR 28 days before you are due and the case worker will use the date of the application submission or date of the result whichever in your benefit.
My visa got issued 8-9-2017 valid until 8-10-2017
I arrived in the UK 20-9-2017
1. I need to confirm the earliest date I can submit my application.
2. Is it the online submission date or the Biometric enrolment as it can take sometime to find appointments.
3. is it save to do it exactly on that date or it is better to allow extra few days for safety?
Your opinion and experience on that matter is much appreciated. Thanks

Hi
I am considering changing jobs at the time I am due for ILR application.
My notice period is 3month and this means I will apply for ILR while I am serving my notice period.
My question
1. Is this recommended or there is a chance of confusing the process?
2. I need an employer letter. Does it need to be dated or can I get it before giving my notice and save it?
3. If I get the letter while in the notice period the employer might not mention that I am continuing and they need me. In this case shall I get 2 letters one from old employer confirming past employment and one from new one for future employment?
Please advise.
Many thanks

To get ILR, you need a letter that mentions you are needed for the foreseeable future. If that is not the case, then you do not qualify for ILR. If you change employers, you must apply for a new visa for your new sponsorship and qualify for ILR after at least a month of working for them
Advice is given based on my personal research and experience only. Do NOT contact me via private message for immigration advice

Thank you. That is really helpful.
Can you advise regarding the earliest date I can apply based on the dates in the post above?

1. Within 28 days before 8/9/2022
2. Application date is the date you submit and pay online and not your biometric appointment date.
3. Your choice.

I am applying for ILR in a few weeks now and wanted to clarify the following
I can apply for me and my wife and then apply for my children alone later or they have to be included on my wife's or my application?
What set should I use for me tier 2 general and my wife tier 2 dependant.
If I apply to my children after both me and my wife got ILR what set shall I use for them?
Thank you

Thank you
One last question please
I have an employment Gap right after I entered the UK for 4month.
Would that reset my clock or as I heared gaps in employment no longer affects the decision?

Hi
when finishing my ILR application it asks for two separate supporting documents:
1. Evidence of immigration status in the UK.
2. Valid BRP.
I tried to obtain an online share code to prove my immigration status but because my visa is the old Tier 2 visa i do not have an ID app account set.
I called the app team and they advised that i can get a share code to prove i can work or rent in the UK but not an immigration status sharecode.
My question is
Is BRP enough in this case as a prove?
If not can i use the code to prove right to work instead?
This is a recent requeriment starting April 2022 so i am not sure if anyone faced this before.
Many thanks

Thank you for your reply
i thought so myself but if BRP is enough why there is two separate documents requested in the supporting document section of the application?
in this case shall i upload the BRP twice?
Also there is a phrase on the prove right to work in the uk saying starting April 2022 BRP will not be enough as a prove of right to work and you will need a share code. the same does not apply for immigaration status?
Best wishes

1. Brp is enough and only upload once! Some people don't have a brp, which is why there are two different statements.
2. You do Not need a share code to apply for ilr!
