People can't help you with what they have no clue about. Why not try and contact the British Embassy in India.

Please ask your Indian authority processes questions in the Other Countries forum, where such questions belong and the more knowledgeable contributors post. It is inappropriate for all other countries processes and exit visa questions to be asked in the British Citizenship sub forum which is specifically for questions relating to applying for British Citizenship and British Passports!susangill wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 3:30 pmWell i disagree with your opinion.CR001 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 3:17 pmPlease ask these questions in the Other Countries sub forum, link below. Because the question is relevant as anyone who will apply for British passport for their kids in india will have to go through the same issue as i am going through. And secondly it's a continuation on my own thread and i am not hijacking someone else's thread. The whole purpose of this forum is to help everyone and not always it's about filling everything correctly Mr. Moderator.
People on their immigration journey through the UK Immigration system inevitably go through multiple stages, such as from a spousal visa or a Skilled Worker visa to ILR to naturalisation to, in the case of Indians, surrender of their Indian passport.susangill wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 3:30 pmWell i disagree with your opinion.

Check section "3.2 Who can be a referee for a customer applying from overseas" of this document:ddb19 wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 12:06 pmHi - we're applying for my daughter's British passport from India and are in the process of getting the docs ready. I read in the guidance notes for counter signatory that the person should also be living in the UK (link & section below).
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ible#count
"The countersignatory must:
have known you personally for at least 2 years (for example, a friend, neighbour or colleague, and not someone who is related to you or only knows you professionally)
be a professional person (please see occupations for countersignatories
live in the UK, and
hold a British or Irish passport which has not run out."
We know someone with a British passport living in India who can sign as counter signatory but I dont understand this rule of living in the UK, considering we are going to apply for it from India.
Is this true or am I confusing this somehow?
Thank you
