ILR holder outside of UK

Post by pns » Wed Nov 16, 2022 10:54 am

Hi

I have a personal situation that I need to be out of UK for more than a year. I am an ILR holder status since last few years and the brp renewal is due in 3 years time.

Will my ILR still be valid for the next 3 years if I do not visit UK hereafter?
are there any automatic status determination that will invalidate my visa status?

thanks.

ILR is lost if you are absent from the UK for 2 or more years.

Short visits do not necessarily maintain your ILR status.

Will ILR be lost when I re-enter the country after say 3 years? or it will expire automatically based on my last departure date?

Short visits - I still work for the same company and will be working for them for some more time. Short visit to UK will only be for contract job purposes. does it still not qualify?

Not sure how much clearer the words from CR001 can be. 2 years max, but now you're asking about 3 years?
How does that work exactly.
Are you waiting for someone to tell you that if you're out of the country for 10 years, it's OK? No pun intended, just trying to understand the angle you're coming from.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
