naturalisation or registration

Post by dalaremal » Sun Dec 18, 2022 4:22 pm

Hello respected members!

I have become British citizen in June 2021 based on 5 year work visa. My wife and two kids (born abroad and are 9 and 7 years old now) came to this country in March 2017 as my dependents while I was on tier2 General.

Today they have got their ILRs.

In terms of becoming British nationals, do my CHILDREN need naturalisation or registration?
And, my MRS, does she need naturalisation or registration?

Your help is highly appreciated! Please!

your wife (which I assume is an adult) can only be naturalized, registration is for minors
kids can be registered, I think your wife can add them to naturalization application as she can apply straight away (spouse of BC), assuming she meets all the absence/etc requirements

Thank you very much for your kind reply!

I am assuming my wife needs 1330 £ to apply for naturalisation. How much I need to pay for the children? Secondly, When can I apply for my wife naturalisation? (I have got British Passport based on tier 2 visa in 2020).

Child pays £1012.

You can apply for both now as they have ilr, provided your wife meets the requirements.

Thanks for your kind reply

Is 1012 per child ?
And 1330 per adult ?

My Mrs fulfill the criteria that Exactly 5 years ago she was physically here
She has English test passed and life in the UK cleared
Any other requirements ?
Plus can she apply straight away or need to wait for 12 months ?

Yes.

As the spouse of a British Citizen, her application will be based on the last 3 years residence which has different absence limits and the same must have been present exactly 3 years prior to applying.
Plus can she apply straight away or need to wait for 12 months ?
