Child under 18 application

Post by rplazo » Tue Apr 18, 2023 9:53 am

Good day everyone.

I'm a British Citizen and I have a child who's turning to 17 years old on April 2023.
Not sure if I can process for her a British passport or apply MN1 registration.

CHILD
Born: Outside UK - 28 April 2006
Arrived in UK on 20 August 2021 (15 years of age)
Current Age: 16+ years of age
School: Completed grade 11 in UK
Currently in College taking up Health and Social Services in 1st year (Full-time)
Have been in the UK for less than 2 years

PARENTS (married)
Father Born: Outside UK
Arrived: June 2015
Current Age: 50 years old
Citizenship: British on 1st March 2023
ILR: 2020
Working full time

Mother Born: Outside UK
Arrived: UK on 20 August 2021
Current Age: 46 years old
Citizenship: Philippines
Have been in the UK for less than 2 years
Working full time

What category I can apply for my child?

I hope someone can enlighten me on what to do.

Many thanks,
Richard

The child will follow the same immigration path as the other parent and require ILR.

You becoming British recently doesn't change anything or provide a shortcut route.

I have additional questions as follows:
Do my wife and daughter need to stay for 5 years before they can apply for ILR?

My child and wife have a Leave to Enter visa and it will expires April of 2024.
Does anyone have a link in visa extension?

Many thanks,
Richard
