Can I apply alone to Tier-2 if i have dependent with me in UK

Hello Members,

1. I have 2 queries regarding Tier-2, I am on a graduate visa route with dependents in the UK. Can I apply for alone Tier-2 visa first or Should I have to apply with my family?
2. If my visa will be rejected for any reason, what will be the status of my graduate visa if its expiry is still for 1 year?

1. Yes fine as long as your dependents apply for skilled worker dependent before their visas expire.

2. Nothing happens to your graduate route visa. It remains valid.

But an advisor told me that if my visa will be switched to Tier-2, then my graduate visa will be expired,
so my dependents will not be eligible for a graduate visa so I need to apply as a family.
I am confused now.

Their visa remain valid but they should change to your new visa as soon as they can.
