UKVI case workers are obligated to consider all applications - by whatever method they are submitted, they will look at all documents and details submitted. The online form is the same as paper, though formatting will be different.
You call a third party call centre, who have limited access to application details. Calling won't get him speaking to HO staff/case workers.Do you think calling the Home Office to ask about the delay will have any positive outcome ?
It can take a couple months just for payment to be taken, provided he provided the correct details and has money in his account and then takes a while for the biometric enrollment letter/email to be sent too. He is just not into online and like stuff the old way. I bet there is a cost these days to cling onto old reflexes.
Friend should go ahead, book and attend appointment, at some point fees will be taken.
