Visa to apply for Family members

Post by longresidence » Mon Jun 19, 2023 3:02 pm

Dear Experts,

I really need help please. I would like to apply visa for my family members from India.(Sister, husband and their daughter).

So, I would like to know what is the process to follow please as this is the first time I am applying for someone.

1. I am a settler here. So, is it a good idea to apply the form myself on their behalf and send the relevant sponsorship covering letter and rest of the docs.

2. Or is it good idea whether they apply themselves and just send only my sponsorship covering letter and rest of the docs from my side.

3. What is the website to apply for Indian visitors please?

4. What is the fee for normal applicants? As I heard visiting visas taking lot of time for approvals. So, what is the fast track link please to apply?

4. How long does it take for getting visa and biometric interview and also getting passport back to them for Fast tracks and normal application.?

5. do they need to have Insurance in place as a mandatory, at the time of submitting or/and applying visiting visa centres.?

6. Do they also need to have flight tickets in place at the time of submitting or/and applying visiting visa?

I really appreciate you guy's please send me the above queries answered so that It will be easier to apply for them

Thanks a lot in advance guy's

I will share what I know based on my recent experience:

1 & 2. The application was made from my family (mother and sister) home country. The sponsor sent an invitation letter, bank details, evidence of status in the UK, proof of suitable accommodation, job letter ect.
3. I think all visitors visa forms are the same regardless of the applicant's country (Just google it)
4. After the application form is completed and you are directed to make payments, if the option of priority services is available then you will see the option. (When my family did theirs, the 5 day priority was available).
5. It's difficult to give a timeline. After the application is submitted, the date for biometric/interview will depend on availability. Faster decision timeline will only begin after you have done the biometric if you use the priory service.
Please note: The above is purely from my experience. Hope it helps.

3. Visit the UK as a Standard Visitor.

5. Insurance is non-mandatory, but recommended.

They don't need fight tickets in place at time of applying.
