ILR for dependent of British citizen

Post by jincyvarghese » Sat Sep 16, 2023 4:09 pm

Hi all,

I am British citizen and my husband completed 6years of working in the U.K. and we are planning to apply for ILR. Could you please tell which English language test does he need to sit for.

He has already given a A1 English test and passed. Does he need to do B1 or his A1 result enough for ILR application.?

He needs B1 minimum for ILR. A1 is NOT sufficient for ILR.

What visa category exactly does he hold??

Under which visa route, PBS dependent, spouse settlement visa, etc.

What visa route did you follow to get ILR?

Has he changed his visa category at all after you got ILR or Citizenship?

Useful to state his full immigration history.

Hi,

He applied through PBS Dependent

I was on tier 2 visa, completed my 5 years and applied for ILR

No he hasn’t changed his visa category after I got ILR.

Also, can he apply for citizenship straight after ILR.?

No he hasn’t changed his visa category after I got ILR.
Then he can apply on form SET O for ILR and needs LIUK and English B1 tests.
Also, can he apply for citizenship straight after ILR.?
Yes, if he meets the requirements. Citizenship questions should be asked in the citizenship sub forum though please.

Hi,
My husband applied for set O for ILR application. He couldn’t find the declaration form for spouse, should I just give the declaration in writing.?

He found 3 convent forms, 1) for himself to consent to ukvi to check 2) consent by another person of he/she is the named on any utility bill or bank document 3) consent of if anyone is financially helping towards the application.

Also, he used my card to make the payments, does it matter.? Will that be called as financial support at all.??

Input the one on your CoS and in a note write the current one stating it was changed.
