Help Please !!!

Post by raj2424 » Fri Oct 20, 2023 10:06 pm

Hi, my wife applied for ILR SET(M) spouse visa route on 25th July. We were told 6-8weeks generally as ours is a straightforward case.
Till date we there is no update. I know the guidance is 6 months.
Is others doing a similar application in the same boat ?
We have planned travel in Dec and now that’s looking questionable :(

appreciate any comments

If you check timeline threads and post, the 6-8wks you have mentioned not cutting it as most applications appears to take longer than that.
And applicant don't hmget to decide their application is straightforward.

From that thread , for standard applications there have been so many variables where I’ve seen ppl getting in within two months mostly and in some cases under a month.

I got my application reviewed by a solicitor and he even commented 6-8 weeks and also said it’s “straightforward” .

Topics split - please don't tag into random people's posts.

It's UKVI who decides if it's straightforward or not. You can try to follow up on it after 6 months have passed eity no decision.

Meself2 - if that’s your assessment of time then why do we have a timeline thread on this website created for others to look at.
People ask so they get an idea what the average waiting period is as appose to the standard 6 months.
If u really can’t help then I’d suggest u look elsewhere

I didn't mention any timelines - in just saying that you cannot, unfortunately, come up to UKVI and ask them "my solicitor said it's straightforward, give me the decision", as they're legally within their timeline.
Also, what information do you expect people to provide besides what's already given in the timeline thread?

If you dont want to hear the advice from members and moderators on the forum, then i suggest you go elsewhere for advice if you cannot post with respect and follow forum rules.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
