Curtailment for Global Mobility Senior Workers visa tier 2

Post by Jobquery2023 » Thu Oct 26, 2023 4:16 pm

Hi

I am currently on
The Global Mobility Senior Workers visa tier 2.

My current employer has asked me to move back to offshore which I want to avoid. I am searching for jobs outside but visa sponsorship is turning out to be an issue. I have time till November end before I have to move back.

In case I resigned from my current company without finding a job, let's say in mid November, how does the Curtailment for this visa work? Is it true that the current employer will inform HMRC and once they issue the letter, I have 60 days to legally stay here? How can I approach my job search during this time

Appreciate any insights on this

how does the Curtailment for this visa work?
UKVI will write to you, assuming they have your current address, to inform you of curtailment. It can take a few months for these letters to be sent out.
Is it true that the current employer will inform HMRC and once they issue the letter, I have 60 days to legally stay here?

Your employer informs UKVI they are no longer sponsoring you, they have to do this within 10 days of your last working day. HMRC has nothing to do with this. You get 60 days from the date you RECEIVE the letter from UKVI, which can take a few months to get sent out.

Note that once you leave your sponsored employment, you will not be permitted to do any other work. Plan accordingly.
