Citizenship is NOT an immigration application application and immigration rules are not relevant. Citizenship has its own laws under the Nationality Laws.so not sure if immigration rules has change regarding these since the last post back in 2018.
Thanks for your response just wanted to be sure, as I don't want to complicate issues for myselfCR001 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:14 amCitizenship is NOT an immigration application application and immigration rules are not relevant. You are free to change jobs.
You are free to change jobs as far as what you declare on the day fo application is correct.Omoba18 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:11 amI would like to know if its possible to resign from my employer and change to self employed during naturalisation application. when I filled my application I put my employer tax reference on the naturalisation application form, therefore I am not sure if it will have any effect on my application if I change to self employed before the approval of the naturalisation application. I have seen a few similar topics but they are back in 2018, so not sure if immigration rules has change regarding these since the last post back in 2018.
Thanks for your response, I am not yet registered as self employed and still in same employment since the time of application.contorted_svy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 1:39 pmYou are free to change jobs as far as what you declare on the day fo application is correct.Omoba18 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:11 amI would like to know if its possible to resign from my employer and change to self employed during naturalisation application. when I filled my application I put my employer tax reference on the naturalisation application form, therefore I am not sure if it will have any effect on my application if I change to self employed before the approval of the naturalisation application. If you are already registered as self employed by the time you apply for citizenship, you should submit your most recent tax return and explain in your cover letter that at the moment of application you were both employed and self employed, that was my situation and it's what I have done (application just recently accepted).
Thanks for your responsealterhase58 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 9:06 pmAlso worth noting there is no requirement to be employed, or self-employed, so changes in that respect are not relevant for the application after you have submitted.
